Itai Massad was born in 1998 and grew up in the north of Israel. During high school, he started taking chemistry classes at the Open University of Israel and soon fell in love with organic chemistry. He then decided to move to the Technion to continue his undergraduate studies.
After graduating with a BSc. in chemistry in 2016, he started his MSc. studies in the Marek group at Technion. In 2018, he transferred to the direct route PhD program and is now working on the utilization of catalytic alkene isomerization as an enabling strategy in the stereoselective synthesis of complex molecules.
