Sayan Shee

Sayan was born and raised in West Bengal, India. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Midnapore College (Autonomous), Midnapore, India. He then joined as an integrated Ph.D. student in the Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2017, where after completing his master, he joined as a Ph.D. student in the group of Prof. Akkattu T. Biju in the Department of Organic Chemistry where he worked on the N-Heterocyclic Carbene-Catalyzed Enantioselective Synthesis of C-O Axially Chiral Diaryl ethers, Tricyclic Lactones and Lactams. In 2025, Sayan joined the Marek group to develop ring opening of highly substituted cyclobutanes.
