Zhenyu was born in 2003 in Shijiazhuang, China. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Nanjing University, where he worked with Prof. Jin Xie to develop the homogeneous photoinduced gold-catalyzed activation of C–X bonds. In January 2026, Zhenyu joined Prof. Ilan Marek’s group as a visiting student. He is currently working on the diastereoselective synthesis of polysubstituted cyclobutenes
